One thing we can’t deny about South Florida is that the afternoons get hot! There are a lot of days that get too hot for our children to play on the great playgrounds. That is when it is best to make sure your kids have on their swim suits and head to a splash pad or fountains for water fun!
Below is a list of our favorites spots to have fun but stay cool!
Located in Royal Palm Commons Park this large fountain area is great for kids to run around and get soaked in! Bring some buckets or cars and the kids won’t want to leave! The splash area is surrounded by picnic tables so make sure to pack a lunch!
An afternoon of fun in southern Palm Beach County! Located in Boca Raton, on Yamato Rd. and Military Trail you will find Pirates Cove Splash Pad featuring 3 turning cannons that shoot water while a ship’s mast and palm trees shower kids with more water! *Bonus* 2 additional playgrounds near by, one specifically designed for children ages 2-5. Plenty of space for a picnic, so pack your lunch and drive on down!
The Palm Beach Zoo is a great place to spend the first part of your day looking at the animals and ending your trip with a run through their fun fountains! Fountain use is included with your zoo admission.
This unique playground is themed after a Florida Swamp and was designed specifically to accommodate children of all ages and abilities on an equal level. The “spray ground” is a small portion of the park, but provides plenty of fun! Additionally, there are playgrounds, swings, specialty play areas, pavilions, picnic tables, and fitness trails.
For some downtown water fun, check out the fountains in the heart of West Palm Beach at the end of Clematis Street. Have lunch at one of the fun restaurants that lines Clematis Street and then head to Sloan’s for some ice cream and finish it off by cooling off in the fountains!
Harbourside Place located in Jupiter has fountain play for the kids as well as restaurants and shopping for us moms! Make sure to check out Harbourside’s website for great events happening all year round!
A great splash pad in Palm Beach County is located in the Lion Country Safari theme park! First enjoy the safari, ride the carousel, feed the giraffes and then cool off in the splash pad! Use of the splash pad is included in the price of admission!
