I love where we live!

There are so many hidden treasures of our town that I’d love to share with y’all!!

Coral Springs & Parkland are towns just off the Sawgrass Expressway.

There’s a lot of charm amongst the standard stores and restaurants us as consumers (especially mothers) need and love that aren’t a 1/2 hour drive away.

Let’s start with my favorite drug of choice -COFFEE:) there’s an amazing coffee shop off University and Sample right next to the library we frequent called “Lady & the Mug.”  (Cute right?!)

The owner Aimee is super friendly & makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. She has endless options of different strengths of beverages from water to wine and of course many caffeinated options – her ‘Nitro’ is a twist on a cold brew that swaps nitrogen for oxygen which gives the coffee a creaminess without an added milk! Fancy!

The Lady & the mug also has swings inside for a perfect photo op with faux grass which if not busy is a great place to prop your crawlers! Lady & the mug will also help us moms out by running out our order if the littles are taking the dreaded car nap! This is my ultimate choice for everyone to visit not just mamas!

Let’s move on to lunch – Angelo Elia is our families go to! They have it all – indoor & outdoor seating ; a fun bar atmosphere , and most importantly quality eats !

From the famous Fort Lauderdale restaurant Casa D’Angelo, they bring fine italian food with a modern twist and some tapas options which everyone loves! Our personal favorites are the Angelo Pizza, Penne Genovese and their Burata Salad! They also make amazing chicken fingers and french fries that even the adults love! You must try their Nutella pizza if you’re looking for a unique dessert that is super delicious!

As far as my favorite place to relax the award goes to Body & Soul Retreat off of University. They have all the treatments everyone would love! Including acupuncture which has changed my quality of life . Dr. Knoth is very talented she knows how to listen to her clients issues and treat them accurately. She also has Chinese herbs she can prescribe to you if you’re interested. For waxing and facials April is the best! Massage therapists are all amazing but for all the preggos reading this Betania is beyond amazing !

To relax the kiddos and enjoy some fun in a sterile air conditioned environment go visit The Salt Box in Parkland. Jessie the owner is a delight as is the rest of her staff. Everyone is cheerful and knowledgeable about salt Therapy. We have been visiting the Salt Box for about three months now and my kiddos who are prone to seasonal allergy nuisances have been snot free ever since. Salt Therapy helps with their asthma, if your child suffers from eczema and there are health benefits.

“The thing that I love most about owning The Salt Box is that it’s a place of wellness for people of all ages (safe for babies as young as 3 months) provided in an all natural way. When children come into their therapy room, they’re always accompanied by a parent/guardian, so while the children receive salt therapy, so do their parents. And when doing sessions in the kids room, you only pay for the children, so the adults receive the benefits of salt therapy at no additional charge. We are open 7 days/week and are a great option for escaping the FL rain and heat all while families are getting healthy, boosting their immune systems, and finding relief for a variety of respiratory and skin conditions. And the first session is FREE to try!”

And last but not least the dreaded love affair I have with fitness…… in our town their are all kinds of options you don’t even need a gym membership! We live in south Florida you can bike ride: rollerblade : surf: boat : jet ski : pretty much motor anything with the exception of a snow mobile 😉 If you want to catch a tennis game or volleyball there are multiple adult and kid leagues everywhere! My personal choice when it comes to fitness is it either has to be fun and not feel like I’m working out i.e. A walk with the baby in the stroller a dance class or my favorite Zumba! However, I do really have a passion for yoga and my yoga studio I belong to. The relationships I’ve built with my yogi community is a bond that’s everlasting and cannot be matched by another activity. I feel so whole with my yoga practice I’m not the most advanced when it comes to “the tricks” but I love the work I do within. Namaste isn’t just a tag line on a Target t-shirt ! It’s a way of life and I’m happy to have found a home at Fusion Fitness. Debbie & Andy are the owners of this amazing place I call my second home. They also offer wonderful spin classes, Ariel yoga with Michelle, many weight training options, Trx the list goes on and on! If you’re in the area be sure to check them out! They’re a dog friendly studio and they offer discounts to students!

If you try out any of my mentioned locations let me know I’d love to hear what you think!

Until next time ….
