Hey Momma! 8 simple things to boost your energy when trying to survive a challenging day of Mommin’!

Let’s be real, everyday is not always easy being a Mom. Sure we have those amazing and sometimes pretty perfect days, but what about all those tantrums and craziness in-between. Seriously I don’t care if you are a child psychologist that wrote a best selling book on parenting that also has a parenting pod cast, all of us mommas have been there. You know, like when you pretend you have to go pee, but really just hang out behind the closed bathroom door for a few extra seconds, just to gather yourself and get a few minutes of peace.

Just know that you are not alone, we all have those days, even the most organized and experienced of us!

There’s not always time for us to catch a yoga class, take a run or go to get a massage. Here’s some of the quick, little things I like to do to snap me out of the chaos!

Check out my list of Mom powering things below and post what recharges your Mom Brain in a flash in the comments below!

  1. (Starbucks!) or your fave coffee or tea place!  My latest indulgence there is the Chai tea latte, steeped with the chai tea bag (instead of the sugary syrup flavoring to save me some calories.) Oh and to be extra luxurious and tasty I like that with steamed coconut milk and cinnamon sprinkle on top! Boca moms, you must order one of these chai lattes from Farmers Market sometime! The best!! Something about those tasty warm beverages that just melts some of the craziness away!
  2. The Pump and Dump Show! Check them out on social media! A pair of friends together since 8th grade, the talented Shayna & Tracey, sing, share real stories and empower all moms. I am a top fan on the Pump and Dump Facebook page and a member of their closed group you can join, #BandOfMothers. I have been to their show twice when they’ve toured in Florida. Shayna and Tracey also published a book called “Parentally Incorrect.” I love that they just want you to know that “You’re an Awesome Mom.” I own their Cd that I play when parked in my car for car-line. I laugh my face off!! They are so funny and motivational! They have many hysterical songs on the cd, like “If Daddies Made Milk,” “The Pump and Dump Theme Song” and “Lies,” just to name a few! Some songs can be found on You Tube, like “You’re and Awesome Mom (7 a.m. version), not on the cd, where Tracey plays a fisher price style xylophone and Shayna sings. Whatever way you can connect with them, I promise your face will hurt from laughing and it will boost your mood! Please be advised that they do use some profanity, so if you are around children or sensitive to such language, be aware. They are so funny,  yet real, down to earth and uplifting to Moms! Love them!
  3. Cat & Nat! These Canadian mom friends are well known for their #MomTruths you can view on you tube! They tell mom life like it is with no filter! Check them out on social media or catch them on tour! I was a lucky winner of VIP tickets to the Cat & Nat show last summer, from the Palm Beach Moms Blog (before I became a PBMB contributor.) It was a really fun experience!  Listening to their social media posts brings me back to that fun moms night! Always fun to inspire and make any mom laugh!
  4. Mom swag with cute sayings and quotes!!!  This is a fun way to rock being a mom at any stage and age! Take on the day as a proud Momma and embrace all the love and craziness of mom life! Wearing a cute Mom shirt, hat or toting a custom coffee tumbler can give you a sense of confidence and remind you that you got this!
  5. Shop at Target! A little target shopping is always cheerful and fun for most Mommas I know. The target runs are fun! It’s nice to stroll the aisles kid free and clear your mind.
  6. Hugs! If me and or my kids are having a long day and are cranky, I find that a nice long momma hug can calm all the moods! Instant stress reliever! Good old oxytocin! Google “Do hugs release oxytocin and cheer ones mood” and see all the interesting info there! You need at least a good 20 second hug according to the google search! Worked like a charm to calm my little tribe down and then we all cuddled and watched a movie together! Magical mood changer! Overdose on momma time hugs and cuddles is always great!
  7. Seven & Eight – take a deep breath and give your kids some more hugs!

I leave you with this positive affirmation

“Take each moment as it comes, happy, healthy, peaceful, calm.”
