Oh The Place You Don’t Have To Go

Being a mom is tough, and there are some errands that make it harder. Such as today, I am trying to drop off a package at UPS. I have my 10-month-old strapped to the front of me in a baby carrier, trying to hold my three-year olds hand to cross the parking lot, all while trying to balance a box on the top of my head. I am sure I looked ridiculous.

Since having my second child I have been on the search for places that make these errands easier. Luckily with the advancements in technology and people coming up with genius ideas more and more places have put in place ways to run errands that help out moms so we aren’t balancing (literally) so much at once.

Chick-Fil-A: Yes, our family loves Chick-Fil-A, and on days we are running around and I don’t feel like making lunch. I pull out my phone, open my Chick-Fil-A app and order curbside at our mall and they walk our food out to my car! No loading and unloading the kids to go pick up food. I love it!

Shipt: I admit I have only used shipt once, but it was wonderful. It was raining, I was pregnant and tired and just didn’t feel like going to the store. I got online and was able to pick out exactly what we needed and have it delivered hours later.

Starbucks: My bad addiction! As much as I wish Starbucks would deliver the ability to order ahead of time has been very helpful! I will order my drink before leaving the house or the gym and can quickly (haha yeah, right!) kids in tow grab it off the counter. It is much better than waiting in line

Panera: One I have yet to try, but I have seen recently that they now deliver. Much healthier than having to go through a fast food line.

Delivery Dudes/Chow Cab: Don’t feel like cooking? Want sushi from your favorite restaurant, but don’t feel like bringing the kids to throw rice all over the floor? These companies have a great list of various restaurants that you can order food from.

Walmart: Another I have yet to try, because I am a target girl. But I think it is great that they offer ordering online and you can just pull your car up and they load everything in for you!

Amazon: The master of helping moms “shop” from home. We are Amazon Prime members and I love it. Anytime I need to get a birthday present I turn to Amazon. 2-Day shipping and I can find almost anything I need at a great price!

I am sure there are many more that I am missing. Although I feel all this online shopping and ordering does limit social interactions. It does help moms get things done when we don’t feel like balancing things on our head.  It gives us the opportunity to spend time playing with our kids and not have to worry about when we will get to the store.
