Hey Families! There is an adorable new character to read about with your kids! His name is “Franklin the Flamingo,” in a brand new children’s book entitled: “Fly’Mingoo: Adventures of Franklin the Flamingo,” written by Franklin E. Renwick Jr., with illustrations by Eminence System. Available for kindle and in Paperback! It’s on Amazon!

This book is beyond cute and informative about safety. I love the beautiful bright colored pictures. It’s about how important wearing safety gear is when participating in our favorite activities! I love that the book not only touches on the importance of safety, but goes a step further to empower children to inform other kids of this safety. It really reminds children that they can always have a platform to share important information and be a leader!

There is something magical that happens in the story when Franklin puts his sunglasses on; I will have to leave that surprise for our little readers to find out! It is so sweet! This author is from South Florida and got inspiration from his family to create Franklin the Flamingo and his adventures! I can’t wait to see what adventures lie ahead with “Franklin the Fly’Mingoo!”

About the Author:

Franklin E. Renwick Jr. has had a passion for Leadership since the age of six, which inspired him to subsequently earn a Masters of Science in Human Resources from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix. Franklin and his wife Cindy have two young energetic children who love reading books. Franklin became inspired to start writing children books because he saw a need for a book that inspired Leadership and safety for children. He hopes that this book encourages parents to be proud of their children’s desire to become Leaders no matter what age the child may be!

The main reason I selected this topic was to bring safety awareness to children when riding skateboards, bicycles, hoverboards amongst other sporting devices. Our purpose is to bring the community back to basics and demonstrate the importance of safety gear in order to prevent head injury amongst other injuries in our children. Many kids shy away from using gear because of fear of being made fun of. We experienced it first hand with our own daughter who in turn was part of the inspiration for this book. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics skateboarding ranks fifth in the top 10 sports-related activities leading to head injuries in children ages 14 or younger. Statistic also show that wearing helmets can reduce the risk of serious brain injuries and concussions. Our wish is to bring back that awareness and help kids understand that it is “cool” to prevent injury and what better way than using that platform to introduce our character Franklin the Flamingo.
