Fall is here and the anticipation of Halloween has begun.
I have a confession…
I really don’t like Halloween. It’s just not my favorite holiday. I think the ridiculous amounts of candy is crazy. I’m one of those moms that limits the candy intake and then throws the rest out. (Well, maybe not the chocolate!)
It’s supposed to be fall with a chill in the air, but instead we walk around the streets of Florida drenched in sweat because we are wearing a costume like my son chose this year. Freddy Krueger! (BTW, I’m terrified of scary movies)
But I try to get into the spirit of Halloween for my boys. The reason why I love all the other holidays is because they revolve around good food. So I try to do the same for Halloween.
This year I will be making a “Witch’s Stew.” I even got a witch mask and some accessories to dress up as a witch. And this witch’s stew is just one of my favorite soups! Lentil and Sausage Soup.
You can prepare it all in the morning and throw it in the slow cooker so you can eat quick and get on to Trick-or-Treating…
This will help me get in the spirit a little bit, but I’m definitely moving on to Thanksgiving!
